Crossfire- A UMADD Affiliate
The Mission of Crossfire- A UMADD Affiliate at The University of Texas at Tyler is:
•To promote MADD’s mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking on campus.
•To provide educational opportunities regarding underage drinking, impaired driving, alcohol poisoning, tobacco and illicit drugs, and social networking websites to the campus community and to parents of underage students.
•To develop and build leadership skills and opportunities for UT Tyler students that will benefit both the individual student and the university community as a whole.
Peer Educators also work with community organizations and agencies to promote social change, such as East Texas Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), People Educating Communities about Tobacco (PECAT), Pay Attention East Texas (PAET), and others.
Membership is open to any UT Tyler student, faculty, or staff. Members may wish to complete Certified Peer Educator Training provided during the summer (as requested by group).
