The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Communication will offer a travel study experience to Europe in May 2012, Dr. Jill E. Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.
Students may choose between two courses – “ JOUR 4329: Web and Publication Design” and “COMM 5329/JOUR 4329: International Multimedia Storytelling” – with each counting as three upper-division journalism elective credits.
Cost is $3,344 excluding tuition and includes round-trip airfare, bus transfers, accommodations, guide and entrance fees and all meals. In addition, there will be a non-refundable $95 enrollment fee.
Payment amounts and dates are pending. Participants will travel to London, England and Paris, France from May 16 – 22, 2012 and study the journalism craft against the backdrop of international influence.
“Touring as journalism students, they will explore, record, report and photograph eye-witnessed events and places, as well as visit world-renowned news, magazines and multimedia institutions,” said Vanessa Joyner, senior lecturer in journalism, who serves as co-coordinator.
Sites include Big Ben, House of Parliament, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, as well as Versailles and the Louvre.
Space is limited, and scholarship and financial aid funds are available.
For more information, email Joyner, email@example.com; or Dr. Marsha Matthews, assistant professor in journalism, firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit http://www.uttyler.edu/communication/travel/index.php.
