UT Tyler to Offer 2012 Shanghai Summer Program

Students at The University of Texas at Tyler have the opportunity to participate in the 2012 UT Tyler in Shanghai Summer Program, Dr. Jill E. Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.
The course titled “China Immersion” may be counted as six undergraduate or graduate-level credit hours for any major, upon approval by an adviser or department chair.
Estimated cost is $3,500 plus tuition and includes books and housing fees, field trips within Shanghai and weekend tours to nearby cities. The cost may differ due to currency changes.
A refundable deposit of $500 is due Friday, Feb. 18, 2012. The remaining amount is due by Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Students will travel to Shanghai, China May 13 – June 3, 2012 and stay at East China Normal University. There, they will participate in interdisciplinary classes covering Chinese economy, society, health care, government, education and traditional arts, such as paper cutting, calligraphy and martial arts.
Limited financial aid and scholarship funds are available.
