The University of Texas at Tyler will hold its Global Awareness Through Education program kick-off celebration at 3 – 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 in the University Center theater.

The first cohort of freshman students will be introduced. Guest speaker Jane Spalding will discuss “Internationalization: Beyond Good Intentions.”

GATE is a two-year residential learning program designed for incoming freshmen where students live together, take enhanced core curriculum classes and participate in on- and off-campus activities that are globally engaging and culturally diverse.
