The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Health and Kinesiology will hold its second community-wide conference promoting men’s health, Dr. William Sorensen, associate professor of health and kinesiology, announced.
The conference will be 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at the UT Tyler University Center.
Topics will include cancer awareness, women and family perspectives and men’s fitness. Registration is $15 for students (with ID), $30 for physicians and $20 for all others. To pre-register, call 903.565.5926.
“We had great success last year, and we are looking forward to seeing even more participants this year. Folks from the community are invited, both men and women,” Sorensen said.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
With a Texas Department of State Health Services grant, the university’s Tyler Prostate Cancer Awareness Project began in 2008 to promote prostate cancer awareness throughout Tyler and surrounding counties. The project has grown to highlight men’s overall health.
