2011 Advanced Placement Summer Institute at UT Tyler

The 2011 Advanced Placement Summer Institute for middle and secondary school teachers will be Aug. 1 – 4 at The University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. Michael Odell, executive director of the Ingenuity Center and AP Institute director, announced.

Hosted by the UT Tyler Ingenuity Center; UT Tyler East Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Center; Tyler Junior College; and Tyler Independent School District, the 30-hour institute offers Pre-AP and AP certification training in 12 courses.

Cost is $450 before Friday, July 1 and $500 after July 1. Registration information may be found at www.ingenuitycenter.org. Registration deadline is Friday, July 22.

Institute courses are:

• AP Biology

• AP Calculus

• AP English Language & Composition

• AP English Literature

• AP U.S. History

• AP Spanish Language

• Pre-AP English (High School)

• Pre-AP English (Middle School)

• Pre-AP Math (High School)

• Pre-AP Math (Middle School)

• Pre-AP Science (Middle School)

• Pre-AP Social Studies (Middle School)

Attendance at all sessions is mandatory to earn a certificate of completion.
