UT Tyler Computer Science Professor Named to ISTE Board of Directors

Dr. Stephen B. Rainwater, chair and Chandler professor of computer science at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been elected to serve on the International Society for Technology in Education board of directors, Dr. James Nelson, College of Engineering and Computer Science dean, announced.
Rainwater will serve a two-year term as computer science representative.
As a member of ISTE’s governing board, he will contribute towards the society’s focus on providing leadership and service to improve teaching, learning and school leadership by advancing the effective use of technology in the K-16 environment.
Rainwater currently serves as president of ISTE’s Special Interest Group for Computing Teachers and was the ISTE board’s computer science representative from 2007 to 2009.
He holds an Ed.D. from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
