The University of Texas at Tyler has implemented a Round-Up Fitness Challenge, Bob Hepler, Herrington Patriot Center director, announced.
The challenge is an effort to encourage all UT Tyler employees of all fitness levels to incorporate healthy choices and daily physical activities in their lives. The program asks participants to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week, for six weeks.
Employees may register at http://www.uttyler.edu/hpc/roundup.php.
University incentives include time to participate in on-campus fitness activities and wellness programs and free access to the HPC during March. Grand prizes and winners will be announced during a ceremony Saturday, April 9.
Suzanne Truitt, UT Tyler head women’s volleyball coach, and Stefani Webb, UT Tyler head women’s soccer coach, serve as co-coordinators.
One of the 15 campuses of the UT System, UT Tyler offers excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service. More than 80 undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at UT Tyler, which has an enrollment of more than 6,400 high-ability students at its campuses in Tyler, Longview and Palestine.
