751 Candidates Recognized at UT Tyler Fall 2010 Commencement

The University of Texas at Tyler held fall commencement ceremonies Dec. 17 and 18, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
Seven hundred fifty one degree candidates were recognized in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Commencement speakers and the ceremonies during which they spoke were: Paul L. Gleiser, Gleiser Communications, LLC president and CEO – Colleges of Business and Technology, Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science; and Dr. Keith McCoy, UT Tyler professor of health and kinesiology – Colleges of Nursing and Health Sciences and Arts and Sciences.
The presentation of degree candidates were made by the deans of each of the university’s colleges: Dr. Kenneth Wink, Arts and Sciences; Dr. Harold Doty, Business and Technology; Dr. William Geiger, Education and Psychology; Dr. James Nelson, Engineering and Computer Science; and Dr. Linda Klotz, Nursing and Health Sciences.
President Mabry gave remarks and certified the degree candidates at each ceremony.
Chief Justice James T. Worthen, UT Tyler alumni representative, gave alumni association presentations.

More than 80 undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at UT Tyler, which has an enrollment of more than 6,400 high-ability students at its campuses in Tyler, Longview and Palestine.
