Dr. Giles Knox, associate professor of art history at Indiana University-Bloomington, will present a guest lecture Thursday, Oct. 21 at The University of Texas at Tyler Fine Arts Complex, Dr. Jill Blondin, UT Tyler associate professor of art history, announced.
The public lecture “Velázquez, Vermeer and the Denial of History” will be 11 a.m. in ARC, room 112.
Knox holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and specializes in southern European art. He recently published a book, The Late Paintings of Velázquez: Theorizing Painterly Performance and has published articles in The Art Bulletin and the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians.
