Ashley Nicole Stormes of Keller, a junior at The University of Texas at Tyler, is a 2010 history scholarship recipient.
Stormes received the Edwin Morgan Smyrl and Frank H. Smyrl Endowed History Scholarship in the amount of $750.
The Edwin Morgan Smyrl and Frank H. Smyrl Endowed History Scholarship honors the memory of Dr. Frank H. The Department of History presents scholarships to declared history majors in recognition of excellent academic performance and for the purpose of encouraging the study of history at the university.
Stormes will be recognized during an awards banquet in April 2011.
She is a UT Tyler Webb Historical Society member and plans to graduate in December 2011 and hopes to become a published author and history teacher.
