Noted Clarinetist Michael Dean to Perform at UT Tyler

Noted clarinetist Michael Dean will perform at The University of Texas at Tyler as part of his 2010 Texas Tour, Dr. Michael Thrasher, School of Performing Arts director, announced.
The public recital will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at the UT Tyler Braithwaite Recital Hall.
Dean also will hold a public master class at 12:30 p.m. that day at the recital hall.
He has performed internationally and across the United States as a recitalist and master clinician, appearing at Carnegie Hall, the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest Conference, among other locations.
Dean holds degrees in clarinet performance from UT Arlington, University of Colorado – Boulder and Texas Tech University.
An associate professor of clarinet and saxophone at Southeast Missouri State University, Dean served as immediate past-president of the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors.
His recent solo CD, Desertscape: New Music for Clarinet, consists of works he has commissioned and premiered.
