UT Tyler Meadows Gallery to Hold 2010-11 Opening Exhibition

The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery will feature the 2010-11 opening exhibition beginning Monday, Aug. 23, Ray Sikes, Meadows Gallery coordinator, announced.
Noted artists will present “Force under the Influence” through Friday, Oct. 1. An opening reception will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at the gallery. Merrie Wright, UT Tyler assistant professor of art, serves as exhibition curator.
“One of the many functions of the Meadows Gallery is to expose UT Tyler students to contemporary practicing artist work from across the United States,” Sikes said. “This exhibition will be a visual and educational delight for the Department of Art and Art History students, students from the university at large and the East Texas community. Everyone is encouraged to enjoy this unique experience.”
Featured artists are Craig Clifford, Jeff Forster, Kimberly Greene, Debbie Kupinsky, Amanda Salov, Michelle Tobia, Lisa Truax and Wright.
The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
