793 Candidates Recognized at UT Tyler Spring 2010 Commencement
The University of Texas at Tyler held spring commencement ceremonies May 8 and 9, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
Seven hundred ninety three degree candidates were recognized in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Commencement speakers and the ceremonies during which they spoke were: U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert – Colleges of Business and Technology, Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science; and Dr. MacGregor Stephenson, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board assistant commissioner for academic affairs and research –– Colleges of Nursing and Health Sciences and Arts and Sciences.
The presentation of degree candidates were made by the deans of each of the university’s colleges: Dr. Alisa White, Arts and Sciences; Dr. Harold Doty, Business and Technology; Dr. William Geiger, Education and Psychology; Dr. James Nelson, Engineering and Computer Science; and Dr. Linda Klotz, Nursing and Health Sciences.
President Mabry gave remarks and certified the degree candidates at each ceremony.
Alumni representative Rick Rayford gave alumni association presentations.
