HOMETOWN RELEASE: Judson Resident Places Second in UT Tyler Big Idea Challenge
Senior marketing major Alan Bogue of Judson received the $500 second- place prize in the 2010 Big Idea Challenge Competition.
Twenty-two student-groups envisioned an innovative business idea and presented their idea to a panel of judges representing the business community. The event, which is annually sponsored by the College of Business and Technology, was open to both UT Tyler students and area college students.
“The Erector,” Bogue’s winning idea, is a specifically designed ladder to assist deer hunters.
This year’s judges were Dr. Greg Clary, Texas Center for Rural Entrepreneurship director; Don Proudfoot, Tyler Junior College Small Business Development Center director; Price Arrendondo, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce – Hispanic Business Services director; and Ronda Reynolds, UT Tyler technology commercialization manager.
This is the third year UT Tyler has held the event.
