HOMETOWN RELEASE: Tomball Resident Recognized at Regional Meeting Representing UT Tyler Beta Alpha Psi Chapter
Accounting major Meredith Houston of Tomball, a graduate student at The University of Texas at Tyler, was one of 10 students who represented the Mu Kappa Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi at the Beta Alpha Psi Regional Meeting earlier this month in San Antonio and was recognized in competition, Dr. Harold Doty, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
In the first time Mu Kappa participated in the Deloitte Best Practices, they received honorable mention for their presentation on chapter sustainability.
The theme of the regional meeting was “Ethics, Integrity and Independence of Mind.” Students attended several informational sessions covering topics such as service activities, fundraising, personal branding and financial literacy. They also interacted and networked with other university chapters in the Southwest Region.
Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals. Its primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
