UT Tyler Offers Community Service Trip for Students
The University of Texas at Tyler Office of Community Relations will offer students a community service opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity in the Galveston area, Ona Tolliver, Office of Student Life and Leadership director, announced.
The 2010 “Alternative Spring Break Trip” will be March 8 – 10 at Dickinson. Cost is $75 and includes all meals, hotel accommodations and transportation.
Applications are available in UT Tyler Administration Building, room 345. Application submission and payment deadline is Tuesday, March 2.
The Office of Community Relations connects UT Tyler students to community service opportunities on campus and in surrounding and area communities.
“Service promotes leadership development and provides a broader awareness of social issues. Leadership and awareness can successfully partner to make a difference in student careers and extend beyond graduation into professional life,” said Carol Killingley, UT Tyler community relations officer.
