UT Tyler Recognizes 27 Longview-Area Scholarship Recipients

Twenty-seven Longview-area students were recognized at a dinner hosted by The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University Center and the Longview Development Council, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

The students are recipients of academic scholarships endowed to benefit students at UT Tyler’s Longview campus.

Mabry gave remarks on the importance of scholarship dollars in recruitment and retention of students in the Greater Longview area.

Nicholas Glaze represented the recipients and thanked the donors for their generosity.

The recipients, by hometown are:

BIG SANDY – Austin Smith.

DIANA – Karla Thomas.

GILMER – Mindy Hamilton.

GLADEWATER – William Clark and Cynthia McGaughey.

KILGORE – Krista Rojo.

LONGVIEW – Anish Alexander, Anne Brown, Michael Clark, Tiffani Cobb, Nicholas Glaze, Macy Hamilton, Amanda Jenkins, Natasha Kincaid, Michelle Nicholson, Sabrina Cubine, Stephanie Paul, Ivy Brautigam, Bipin KC, Stephanie Jones, Amanda Graham, Ladonna Hill, Stephanie Hunt, Sarah Reeves and Rachael Rowland.

Scholarship donors and their scholarships are: Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Garland, Peggy and Neal Garland Scholarship; Mr. and Mrs. John C. Whitaker, Hogan-Whitaker Scholarship; Ms. Linda Bobo, Laurie Ellard Bates Nursing Scholarship; LUC Circle of Friends, Longview University Center Circle of Friends Scholarship; and Longview Partnership, PARBUSTERS Scholarship.
