UT Tyler Announces New Commencement Ceremony Schedule
Due to the increasing number of graduates and guests, The University of Texas at Tyler has announced a new schedule for its commencement ceremonies this fall, Dr. Peter J. Fos, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, announced.
The fall 2009 commencement ceremonies, which will be held at the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center, are as follows:
Friday, Dec. 18
- 3 p.m. Candidates in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
- 6 p.m. Candidates in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Saturday, Dec. 19
- 10 a.m. Candidates in the College of Business and Technology.
- 1 p.m. Candidates in the Colleges of Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science.
Tickets are required for guest admission. The Cowan Center doors will open one hour prior to the ceremonies. Graduation candidates should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their college’s ceremony. Additional guest seating will be available in the UT Tyler Braithwaite Recital Hall. The ceremonies also will be streamed live via the UT Tyler Web site.
Students who graduated in August 2009 must participate in the fall 2009 commencement ceremony.
A similar schedule is anticipated for the spring.
