HOMETOWN RELEASE: Pittsburg Resident Installed as Founding Student Officer for UT Tyler Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society Chapter
Hollie Youngblood of Pittsburg, a student at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been named founding vice-president of special affairs for the university’s Mu Kappa Chapter of the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society, Dr. Harold Doty, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
Youngblood is majoring in accounting.
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.
Dr. Andrew Bailey, president of Beta Alpha Psi International, and Dr. Lu Montondon, Southwest Chapter advocate on the board of directors of Beta Alpha Psi International, installed the student officers during a chartering ceremony held earlier this month on campus.
Mark Washburn, lecturer in accounting at UT Tyler, has served as the student chapter’s faculty adviser since spring 2008, when UT Tyler began its petitioning process.
