UT Tyler Students, Alumni Named Charter Members of Beta Alpha Psi-Mu Kappa Chapter

The University of Texas at Tyler has named 34 students and alumni as charter members of the Mu Kappa Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.

The chapter successfully completed its petitioning process and earlier this month was officially installed as the 285th chapter of the international organization.

Inductees listed by hometown are:

FLINT – Jimmy Thorne.

FRANKSTON – Paul Parker.

GARLAND – Katie Ernest.

GILMER – Bracy Sweat.

HUGHES SPRINGS – Benjamin Watson.

JACKSONVILLE – Brandon Tatum and Brittany Traylor.

KATY – Marcos Cruz.

LONGVIEW – Christy Smith.

MINEOLA – Matt Lusty.

MOUNT PLEASANT – Miguel Garcia.

MOUNT VERNON – Courtney Seelbach.

PALESTINE – Kris Rivera.

PITTSBURG – Hollie Youngblood.

SCROGGINS– Morgan Boyd.

TOMBALL – Meredith Houston.

TYLER – Dana Bell, Jessica Burks, Bubacarr Demba, Daniel DeMoss, Erin Emery, Thomas Enlow, Kevin Habibelahian, Stephanie Kurland, Jay Nelson, Stephanie Querry, Lilyana Radeva, Alvin Samuel, Joshua Smallwood, Kwang Soo Yoo and Kim Vay.

Dr. Mary Fischer, graduate business program coordinator and professor of accounting at UT Tyler, and Jana Cruce, a former UT Tyler student, were recognized as honorary members of the chapter for their service and support.

Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.  Members must be a junior or senior majoring in accounting, finance or information systems; maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0; and be of good moral character. Members and pledges participate in various professional and service activities to enhance their skills and gain knowledge of financial information topics and professional opportunities.
