UT Tyler Announces Student Officers of HR Management Society Chapter
Inaugural officers for the student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management at The University of Texas at Tyler have been named, Dr. Harold Doty, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
Officials installed the student officers during a chartering ceremony Oct. 7 on campus.
The inaugural class of student officers listed by title with hometown, classification and major are:
President: Scott Good of Hallsville, senior, human resource development.
Vice-President: Shannon Sutton of Humble, senior, business management.
Secretary: Kerry Tahmahkera of Wichita Falls, senior, human resource development.
Treasurer: Justin Davenport of Fort Worth, junior, human resource development.
Representative to Student Government Association: David Kelley of League City, senior, human resources development.
Public relations director: Amanda Wassef of Tyler, senior, human resource development.
Representative to College of Business and Technology dean: Cory West of Midlothian, senior, management.
Dr. James H. Browne, associate professor of management, and Dr. Paul Roberts, associate professor of technology, serve as the student chapter’s faculty advisers.
The student SHRM chapter is sponsored by the East Texas Human Resource Association. Since 2005, ETHRA has established a scholarship fund to assist UT Tyler students pursuing a degree related to the human resource management field.
