MEDIA ADVISORY: UT Tyler to Hold 2009-10 Convocation

The University of Texas at Tyler will kick off the 2009-10 academic year with 2009 Convocation Monday, Aug. 24, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

Convocation begins at 8:30 a.m. at the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.

Officials will introduce new faculty members and present academic and service awards. President Mabry will give the state of the university address.

Fall classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 26.
