UT Tyler to Hold Early Childhood Math, Science Summer Institute
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Education, in collaboration with Region VII Head Start, will hold the 2009 Early Childhood Math and Science Summer Institute June 15 – 19, Dr. William Geiger, College of Education and Psychology dean, announced.
The institute will be a five-day event at the UT Tyler Ornelas Activities Center.
Participants have multiple options of training. Cost is $150 for all five days, $90 for three-day training; $60 for two-day training; and $40 for any one day of training. Cost for UT Tyler students is $10 for any day registered. The first three days will focus on math and science for the young child, while the last two days will focus on Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline.
“This provides valuable information for preschool, pre-kindergarten, Head Start, kindergarten and primary grade teachers, and college credit is available,” said Dr. Kathy Morrison, UT Tyler associate professor of early childhood education and institute coordinator.

Deadline is June 1. Registration is complimentary for Region VII ESC Early/Head Start teachers and principals.
