Garnesha Beck Named UT Tyler Career Services Coordinator

Garnesha Beck has been appointed coordinator of Career Services at The University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. Howard Patterson, vice president of student affairs, announced.

Beck has served as the career services employer relations specialist since 2008. Her new appointment is effective April 1.

“It’s my pleasure to move Garnesha into this position. She has been successful in her previous role of employer relations specialist, and she understands the needs of the students and the potential employers, working well with both,” Patterson said.

As coordinator of career services, Beck oversee the implementation of new opportunities such as first-year orientation programs to help UT Tyler students successfully transition from higher education to their chosen professions.

Beck holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Grambling State University and a master of science degree in business administration from the University of Dallas.

She came to UT Tyler in 2007 as the university’s AMERICorps VISTA service leader.
