NEWS TIP: UT Tyler Piano Skills Festival to Feature Local Student Talent

The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Music will present the 2009 Piano Skills Festival for elementary, middle and high school students Feb. 6 – 7 and March 27 – 28, Vicki Conway, senior lecturer in music, announced.

“The festival is a pre-college festival featuring performance, technique, harmonization and sight-reading skills,” said Conway, who serves as coordinator for the annual event. “Participants earn awards and a chance to perform in the Braithwaite Recital Hall on March 28.”
