NEWS TIP: UT Tyler Staff Member Gaining Local, National Attention

Steven Mullenax, educational technology support technician at The University of Texas at Tyler, continues to gain ground as an aspiring filmmaker.

On Nov. 6, Mullenax won first place in Tyler's first Historical Film Festival.

In November 2007, Mullenax also won a short film contest with Los Angeles’ G4TV, a cable network owned by E! Entertainment.

Earlier this year, Mullenax entered a video contest held by the nationally-syndicated radio morning show, Kidd Kraddick in the Morning.

Although his submission did not win, it did grab the attention of the show’s host, who commissioned Mullenax to produce several Web videos for him.

Mullenax currently is working on pre-production for his next short film and intends on submitting it to major film festivals around the world.
