MEDIA ADVISORY: UT Tyler to Hold 9/11 Memorial Events

The University of Texas at Tyler will hold special events on the anniversary of Sept. 11, Dr. Howard Patterson, vice president for student affairs, announced.

The UT Tyler Black Student Association will host its 3rd annual Unity Picnic 5 – 7 p.m. on the UT Tyler Harvey Lake deck. A memorial video about the 9/11 terrorist attacks will be shown, and free food and games will be provided. The university community is invited to attend.

Following the picnic, the UT Tyler Student Government Association will hold a candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. at the Dub and B.J. Riter Millennium Carillon Tower.
