UT Tyler Names New Chair of Health and Kinesiology
Dr. T. Scott Marzilli has been appointed the next chair of the Department of Health and Kinesiology at The University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. Linda Klotz, College of Nursing and Health Sciences dean, announced.
Marzilli will begin his appointment on July 1.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Marzilli to the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. He will be a great asset to the department,” Klotz said.
He comes to UT Tyler after serving almost 10 years at the University of West Florida where he has been associate professor in health, leisure and exercise science since 2005.
Marzilli also has served as UWF faculty senate president and board of trustees member.
A UWF 2007 Distinguished Teaching Award recipient, he has been recognized for outstanding teaching six times in the last 10 years.
Other honors and awards include International Biographical Centre Leading Scientists of the World, Academic Leadership Award and numerous publications and manuscripts.
Marzilli holds a Ph.D. in motor behavior from Florida State University, and master of science in human movement and sports and bachelor of science in physical education/kinesiology degrees from California Polytechnic State University.
