MEDIA ADVISORY: UT Tyler Takes Part in Courthouse Dedication Ceremony

One of the exhibit panels to be on display in the federal building. The dedication ceremony May 9 will officially recognize the renaming of the building, which will honor former U.S. district judge William M. Steger.

The University of Texas at Tyler President Rodney H. Mabry is among speakers at a dedication ceremony renaming the federal building in downtown Tyler in honor of the late William M. Steger.

The ceremony begins at noon May 9 at the building, 211 West Ferguson Street.

Ann Steger has donated her husband’s official documents, papers and personal items to the University Archives and Department of Special Collections at UT Tyler’s Robert R. Muntz Library. Library officials have worked on an exhibit in the courthouse that will feature highlights from the U.S. district judge’s career and life.
