The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center and The East Texas Symphony Orchestra Association will unveil a special collaboration to present an internationally known guest artist on Thursday, April 17 at the UT Tyler Cowan Center.

A buffet luncheon will begin at noon followed by a press conference at 12:30 p.m.

These two organizations are collaborating to co-present this artist during the 2008-2009 season.  The artist will perform with the East Texas Symphony Orchestra in this special concert event April 4, 2009.

Mrs. David (Jacqueline) Braithwaite dreamed of just such a moment when she endowed each organization with funding for the purpose of bringing renowned artists to Tyler.  While her legacy serves as the foundation for this concert, additional sponsorship is needed to make the dream a reality.

This once in a lifetime event will draw East Texans to Tyler from surrounding cities and rural areas.  To celebrate the appearance of this renowned artist, the concert will be black tie optional.  The organizations will serve both presenting organizations' donors and subscribers prior to the public through early ticket sales in October, 2008.  Sales begin for the public on November 3, 2008.
