UT Tyler's Greek Week Set for March 24 - 28
The University of Texas at Tyler’s “Greek Week 2008” is set for March 24 – 28, David Hill, UT Tyler interim director of student development, announced.
The theme is “The Best Greek Week Ever: No matter the colors or the letters, we’re all Greek together.”
New to this year’s festivities are activities that are open to the entire university community, which include a kickball tournament and faculty/staff meet and greet.
“We’re doing something different this year as opposed to last year, in that we want to bring not only the UT Tyler Greek community together, but the entire university community,” said Lamar Bryant, UT Tyler student affairs specialist, who also oversees fraternity and sorority affairs.
Members of the UT Tyler Greek Council and Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life serve as coordinators for the week’s events.
This marks the second year for the university to hold Greek Week. In 2006 UT Tyler implemented Greek life, which now includes two fraternities and four sororities.
