MEDIA ADVISORY: UT Tyler Student Services to Hold Seminar

The University of Texas at Tyler Disability Support Services will hold an audio conference seminar and luncheon to discuss veteran-students in the classroom on Feb. 27, Ida MacDonald, student services director, announced.

The presentation, which is titled “From Combat to Classes: Serving Veterans with Disabilities in Higher Education,” will begin at 11 a.m. on Feb. 27 on campus.

Thomas E. Church, disability manager at the University of California-Merced and certified rehabilitation counselor, will present through audio format.

“It is imperative that we provide for the individual access needs of our veterans who have sacrificed so much to make it possible for Americans to have the wonderful academic freedoms we currently have,” MacDonald said. 

The seminar is sponsored by the Office of Student Services.
