UT Tyler Accepting Applications for Archer Fellowship Program

The University of Texas at Tyler is currently accepting student applications for Washington, D.C. internships through the Bill Archer Fellowship Program, Dr. Michael Eidenmuller, associate professor of speech communication and Archer Center campus coordinator, announced.
Applicants must be UT Tyler juniors or seniors with 24 completed hours at UT Tyler, have an overall 3.0 GPA, complete basic government requirements and hold work or internship experience. Applications may be picked up from Ashley Ward, UT Tyler academic adviser in University Center, room 219B. Deadline is Friday, Feb. 15.
The UT System established the Bill Archer Fellowship in 2001 in conjunction with Former U.S. Representative Bill Archer.
Each student will intern full-time, take one weekend class and two evening classes taught by UT professors and live near Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court with other interns from UT System campuses.
Students pay for a program fee as well as the cost of books. In addition, living and work costs are out-of-pocket.
Finalists will be notified by Friday, Feb. 29, and students selected to participate in the program will be notified by Friday, April 4.
