NEWS TIP: UT Tyler Art Faculty Selected to Rotary International Exchange Team

Dr. Rachel Sailor, assistant professor of art history at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been selected by the district chapter of Rotary International to represent East Texas as a member of the Group Study Exchange team.

She and three others chosen will travel to Finland in April. About 15 young professionals ages 40 and younger were interviewed for the selection process.

Sailor holds a Ph.D. in American art from the University of Iowa.

During the 2007-08 academic year, she was awarded a UT Tyler internal research grant for her project titled “Overlooked and Forgotten: A Depression-Era Mural in Tyler, Texas.”
