UT Tyler Meadows Gallery Offers MFA Thesis Exhibition
A master of fine arts degree thesis exhibition featuring the work of graduate student Jennifer Shepard of Dallas will open Monday, Jan. 12 at The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery, Ray Sikes, Meadows Gallery coordinator, announced.
The exhibition featuring a series of collages on wood, will continue through Friday, Jan. 23. A campus reception, which is open to the public, will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at the gallery.
“These pieces were created in a stream of consciousness fashion and are intended to be representative of an existential journal of the artist’s thoughts and experiences, while simultaneously evoking various cultural icons and references,” Sikes said of Shepard’s artwork.
The exhibition is in partial fulfillment of the master of fine art degree requirements at the university.
The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment, 903.566.7250.
