HOMETOWN RELEASE: Cedar Hill Resident Elected to International Organization
Robin McDavid, Cedar Hill junior at The University of Texas at Tyler, was elected to the BACCHUS Network Student Advisory Committee, Dr. Lou Ann Berman, assistant vice president for student success, announced.
A journalism major with an emphasis in public relations, McDavid will represent Area 6, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico and Mexico, for the next year.
She was selected for the committee during an international student organization peer education conference in Atlanta, Ga.
“Robin has emerged this semester as a committed true leader. I look forward to continuing to work with her this next year both with the BACCHUS Area 6 leadership team and our peer education program through Wellness and Prevention Education Services,” said UT Tyler counselor Kim Harvey-Livingston.
“As a peer educator this semester, she helped plan and implement programming for alcohol awareness week, domestic violence candlelight vigil, and MADD’s tie one on for safety kickoff event at UT Tyler."
McDavid also is involved with UT Tyler’s Campus Assault Response Effort student group, University Mothers Against Drunk Driving and College Democrats.
