Derrith Bondurant has joined The University of Texas at Tyler’s university advancement staff as director of corporate and foundation relations, Jerre Iversen, UT Tyler vice president of university advancement, announced.
As the primary UT Tyler advancement coordinator for local, regional and national foundations, Bondurant’s primary responsibility will be to manage the corporate and foundation relations activities of the University. In addition, she will serve as primary liaison with the UT Tyler College of Arts and Sciences, assist UT Tyler’s Longview University Center with its overall fundraising efforts and provide counsel on marketing advancement programs.
Bondurant previously served as the executive director for Opera East Texas, during which time she developed educational outreach and initiated a national singing competition, transforming the company from a local community music program into a nationally recognized regional opera company.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Bondurant has served on the Texas Commission on the Arts Performing Arts Panel and LeTourneau University Office of Advancement Fundraising Campaign for the new S.E. Belcher Performance Center. She currently is a member of the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, Longview Partnership, Arts East Texas and Longview Arts Alliance.
