Distinguished ceramic artist Mary Louise Carter will present a workshop at The University of Texas at Tyler, Merrie Wright, UT Tyler assistant professor of art, announced.
As part of the two-day workshop, Carter will give a lecture at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, and demonstrations will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. Both events will be held in UT Tyler’s Art Studio room 112 and are free and open to the public.
Carter currently teaches ceramics at Louisiana Tech University, where she holds the Lyles Endowed Professorship. A potter for more than 25 years, she has exhibited her porcelain ceramics in many juried and invitational shows throughout the United States.
Carter, a graduate of Kansas City Art Institute, received her master’s degree from the New York State College of Ceramics.
