Dr. Ali Azghani, associate professor of biology at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been appointed president of Associational Clinical Research Professionals' local chapter, Dr. Alisa White, UT Tyler interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, announced.
Azghani, a member of both the local North Texas chapter and the national ACRP, will serve a one-year term.
Azghani holds a Ph.D. in radiation microbiology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. A UT Tyler faculty member since 2005, Azghani also serves as an adjunct associate professor at the UT Health Center at Tyler’s department of biomedical research, where he collaborates with Dr. Idell's group on a research project funded by the National Institute of Health.
ACRP is an international association comprised of more than 20,000 individuals dedicated to clinical research and development. Founded in 1976, ACRP is the primary resource for clinical research professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, as well as those in hospitals, academic medical centers and physician office settings.
