The University of Texas at Tyler chemistry department will sponsor a week-long camp for students entering the sixth, seventh or eighth grades this fall, Dr. Don McClaugherty, UT Tyler chemistry department chair, announced.

Discover Science Camp will be held 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. July 23-27 in UT Tyler’s Ratliff Building South.

"This fun, science enrichment program will teach chemistry, physics and math through the use of forensics, green science, areospace science and more," said Christina Ragain, UT Tyler lecturer in chemistry. "Students at Discover Science Summer Camp will work with university faculty and undergraduate students in UT Tyler's state-of-the-art facility. The participants will be introduced to appropriate grade-level theory while learning in a college environment."

The University will supply gloves, safety goggles and aprons for each student’s use during the camp. Students will need to wear long pants and closed shoes.
