The University of Texas at Tyler chemistry department will sponsor a week-long camp for students entering the sixth, seventh or eighth grades this fall, Dr. Don McClaugherty, UT Tyler chemistry department chair, announced.
Discover Science Camp will be held 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
July 23-27 in UT Tyler’s Ratliff Building South.
"This fun, science enrichment program will teach chemistry, physics and math through the use of forensics, green science, areospace science and more," said

lecturer in chemistry. "Students at Discover Science Summer Camp will work with university faculty and undergraduate students in UT Tyler's state-of-the-art facility. The participants will be introduced to appropriate grade-level theory while learning in a college environment."
The University will supply gloves, safety goggles
and aprons for each student’s use during the camp. Students will need to wear long pants and closed shoes.
Parents may register their student for this $275 camp by downloading a registration form online at www.discoverscience.info and sending a $100 deposit to: Christina Ragain, UT Tyler department of chemistry, 3900 University Blvd. Tyler, Texas 75799.
Sign-up deadline is July 9. The UT Tyler chemistry department also welcomes sponsors to assist students with camp tuition.
