The University of Texas at Tyler and the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler will host the second economic business vendor fair on May 18, UT Tyler President Rodney H. Mabry, announced.
The fair will take place 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the UT Tyler Herrington Patriot Center.
“The economic business vendor fair is about bringing minority businesses to the campus to meet with UT Tyler faculty and staff,” said Wendy Minix, UT Tyler purchasing development coordinator. “State agencies are required by Senate Bill 178 to sponsor these events as a means of encouraging and assisting minority and female-owned small businesses in bidding for contracts and open market purchases. However, the vendor fair is not only open to minority businesses, but will be open to all vendors to promote full and equal opportunity.”
Regional vendors providing office supplies, medical supplies, computer supplies and promotional products are invited to participate with a $25 fee per booth. Registration deadline is May 10.
UT Tyler’s staff and faculty and state agencies are invited to attend. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be provided.
