Tickets are almost sold out for the Arts in Education Series presentation of The Wizard of Oz at The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
“Follow the yellow brick road to the Cowan Center! Dorothy and Toto will be there with your favorite characters, including the Tinman, the Scarecrow, the Lion and the Wizard. Hear your musical favorites and new songs, too,” Thomae-Morphew said.
The production, sponsored by Joyce Buford, will feature two performances. Tickets for the 9:30 a.m. performance are sold out; however, tickets are still available for the 12 p.m. performance.
Tickets are $5 per person and school groups must pre-arrange their visits at the box office. Box office hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 903.566.7424.
“The UT Tyler Cowan Center presents this series with Young Audiences. We have complementary goals and also co-present programs on school campuses. Joyce Buford loved the idea of helping us present for school children and is our first sponsor for this series. The Cowan Center is also seeking endowment support to help this series grow and become more affordable for schools,” said Susan Thomae-Morphew, UT Tyler Cowan Center director.
