UT Tyler Launches New Website
The Office of Marketing and Communications has launched the new university website, Beverley Golden, director, announced.
The site, developed to meet the needs for prospective and current students, features a new look with improved navigation and content, as well as other enhancements, such as video and an interactive campus calendar.
“We’re quite pleased to reach this milestone in the development of the site, and we appreciate the patience of the campus as everyone becomes familiar with it,” said Golden. “Even though we’ve worked to prevent it, we do anticipate that there will be some broken links, especially with some pages that are bookmarked because the links have changed. Please feel free to contact us with questions.”
Throughout the year, the department will continue to move content from the old site, so some pages will still have the look and feel of the old site. Again, broken links and error messages also may still occur. Please report any findings to firstname.lastname@example.org, she added.
“We’ve worked diligently to update the site so that it’s more dynamic and engaging, as well as user-friendly,” Golden said.
The UT Tyler marketing and communications web team will work closely with university departments to move their respective content and pages to the new site. Scheduled training sessions regarding the Omni Update content management system, search engine optimization and writing for the web will be announced soon.
Team members are Robin Kelly, webmaster; Emily Battle, web content coordinator; and James Mbewe, web developer.
