UT Tyler to Hold 2011 - 12 Convocation Aug. 19

The University of Texas at Tyler will kick off the 2011 – 12 academic year with 2011 Convocation Friday, Aug. 19, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

Convocation begins at 8:30 a.m. in the University Center theater.

Officials will introduce new faculty members and present academic and service awards. President Mabry also will give the state of the university address.

Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 22.
