LSAMP Research Academy Participants to Present Posters
July 19, 2011
Seven UT Tyler undergraduate students in the UT System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Undergraduate Research Academy will present their research in a poster presentation 9 – 11 a.m. Friday, July 29 at the Ornelas Activity Center, Dr. Stephen Rainwater, UT Tyler LSAMP program campus director, announced.
Participants are Megan Ballard, James Boulger, Juan Cerda, Michael Clarke, Katy Ereman, Juan Macias and Ciera Ward.
“The first place poster as judged by a panel of university scholars in the local competition will determine the student who will be invited to participate in the UT LSAMP International Experience during the next academic year,” Rainwater said.
The university community is invited to attend.
Students also will present their posters at the UT System LSAMP Student Research Conference at UT Arlington in September.
The UT LSAMP program is supported by funding from the National Science Foundation and provides undergraduate research experiences. The program strives to increase the number of underrepresented students preparing for graduate level studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics programs.
