UT Tyler Billiards Club Qualifies for National Tournament

The UT Tyler Billiards Club has made its first national tournament appearance after placing in the top three in a state competition.

Graduate students Robert Ray and Cody Broadway qualified for the national 9-Ball Billiards Tournament July 14 – 17 in Virginia, where 45 players from colleges all over the United States are set to participate.

Ray and Broadway completed their undergraduate studies at UT Tyler in May, in chemistry and industrial safety, respectively.

The Billiards Club, a student organization, began this year. Eric Engler, who oversees University Center operations and campus activities, serves as the coach/adviser and coordinator.

Other members are Cody Marett, Chase Nielsen and Jordan Baker.
