UT Tyler Office of Marketing and Communications
University Website Project Continues
June 27, 2011

The UT Tyler Office of Marketing and Communications web team continues to move forward on revamping the university website, Beverley Golden, marketing and communications director, announced.
Robin Kelly, webmaster; Emily Battle, web content coordinator; and James Mbewe, web developer, are the web team.
They are focusing on such improvements as search engine optimization, navigation, website content and the development of an interactive campus calendar. They are also working with Noel Levitz to incorporate new templates that include dynamic features such as a mega menu, rotating images and videos.
“Our objective is to enhance the website so that it is more appealing to prospective students and more useful to current students. The overall goal is to recruit more new students and use the site to aid in the retention of current students,” said Golden.
The current site has been an ‘all-audience’ view, which means the top level sites and the navigation were designed to accommodate prospective and current students, alumni, donors and the general public. The new site will focus on recruiting new students on the top level, she added.
Departments will be able to select from several templates allowing them to implement additional dynamic features such as the new interactive UT Tyler calendar of events and drop-down menus.
The web team will be contacting each department to discuss enhancements involving the department site.
