Dr. Srini Kambhampati serves as the Sam A. Lindsey chair of biology at UT Tyler. The biology program offers students an opportunity to gain an appreciation of the biological world, develop an inquisitive nature, think scientifically, prepare for entry into one of the medical professions, train as a prospective teacher and to prepare for advanced study.

Its curriculum is designed to accomplish the above objectives through contact with specific biological content, exposure to laboratory experiences and encouragement of the creative process and independent research.
