Spotlight: Carol Kilmon

Carol Kilmon, associate professor of nursing, was cited in a Wall Street Journal article.

Titled “Avatar II: The Hospital,” the article discusses how health-care facilities and educators are taking advantage of the virtual world program, Second Life for training medical and nursing students in clinical skills and disaster drills.

Kilmon holds a Ph.D. in nursing from UT Austin. She was named a 2010 Health Information Technology Scholar and has received the 2009 Sigma Theta Tau Iota New Chapter research award.

She also is a UT Tyler Second Life interest group member.
